I miss my bag lady life

Filed under: Uncategorized — suzannepark @ 9:16 pm

I found out today that the little old lady making my purse organizers is not done with my sample yet. Grrr. I gave her a full 2 weeks to deliver. I keep getting reassured that she’s one of the best contract seamstresses in town so I’ve been pretty patient so far. If she can’t get the sample done by end of week though, the gloves come off. A couple of bitchslaps should do the trick.

I also got an email from one of the textile sales reps letting me know that some of my fabric is ready. Holy crap! I haven’t picked my final manufacturers, and therefore I have no shipment addresses yet. I asked her if I could wait until the end of the week to get back to her with the address, and she said her company was taking a “summer break” for 3 weeks starting Friday, and they would resume operations mid-July. She said I could get back to her then. Phew! That should give me enough time to finalize my production details.

And now some good news. I have less than 40 hours left with my contracting job. Hooray! I can’t wait to get back to the bag thing full-time. I’ve been letting deadlines slip and have been terrible about keeping up with finances on Quickbooks. I sent my graphic designer some hangtag copy over the weekend riddled with spelling mistakes. I’m a hot mess, and I need to get focused again. The cash infusion will be nice, but I’ve learned now that taking a second job less than 4 months before launch is not a good idea.

Now I know. And as a wise miltary man once said, “Knowing is half the battle.”
